Home
Home, KS acquired its name because the Post Office was always in a home from the beginning of the mail service in 1874.
After the naming and platting of Home in 1882, it showed growth and signs of life. The first store was built in Home in 1885, the owner was J.B. Wuester.
On May 5th, 1905 Home was totally destroyed by a fire, except for a brick residence on the north side of Main Street. It was rebuilt in 1910.
Home has about 150 residents. Currently there are nine locally owned and operated businesses, along with the U.S. Post Office.
Remember, “There’s no Place Like Home.”
