Beattie
"The Milo Capital of the World"
Beattie, founded in 1870, is a quiet bedroom community of approximately 260 people. The average age is 36 years. The town boasts of several businesses including; two gas stations, a restaurant, a meat locker, a flower/gift shop, a hair salon, a bank, a post office, the Rural Water District office, the Beattie Heritage Museum & Archives and the new location for the Beattie Library/City Hall--all on Main Street! Other businesses include several trucking companies, the Farmers Union Coop, as well as many others in & around the community.
Twin Valley Developmental Services is a big part of Beattie, serving our developmentally challenged adults. Twin Valley has both residential housing and apartments.
Beattie Churches include the Beattie United Methodist Church & St. Malachy’s Catholic Church. Our annual town celebration is known as the Beattie Milo Festival. It is held the 3rd Saturday in August.
Beattie recently finished updating the City Park with public restrooms, a new shelter house, playground equipment and a walking trail. The PRIDE Group is in the beginning stages of a new Community Building. Our people are our best resource. Come & visit or come & stay, all are welcome!
